The Smoke That Thunders
The locals call Victoria Falls Mosi-oa-Tunya (meaning "The Smoke That Thunders") and with good reason as the Falls are continuously giving off a huge thundering sound in additional to creating a permanent white mist the definitely resembles smoke. Victoria Falls is roughly twice the height of Niagara Falls and well over twice the width of its …

Majestic Victoria Falls
After leaving the hotel in Johannesburg, we took a 75 minute flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The British Airways flight (yes, they have a base in South Africa) was smooth and uneventful. We had heard so much about this great hotel and told not to miss it.
We had stayed for 1 night at the end of a tour at another hotel and transferred here for 3. FANTASTIC. loved going deown to the breakfast room and watching the waterhole. Also we had preordered an upstairs room facing the waterhole (to the right of Reception) great view - except that monkeys are a BIG problems swiping things - watch that.
DON'T miss their restaurante down the drive (name?) - we had an amazing night there and my husband still talks about the whole room of people drumming - amazing experience plus the food.
