Day One - Sundowner Cruise, Dinner at Boma and about 30 mosquito bites
Day Two - Walking tour of the falls & Lion walk....we were able to pet two lions that were about 18 months old
Day Three - Swimming at the Devils swimming pool which is at the top of Victoria Falls, this was so much fun!
Day Four - Ziplining and Gorge Swing...scary stuff
Day Five - White water rafting...we were tipped and everyone in the raft fell out....I fell out a second time on a small rapid....Colgate,...
On our last official tour day we all got together for traditional dinner at one of the local hotels. Joined by Lara's Mam and nephew Phil who had driven up from Bulawayo to collect her. It could have been wonderful and well worth the 19 million we paid for it if they hadn't rushed us out the door mid glass of wine. Retired to the hostel for a few drinks. Sunday began with Michelle and Dom awake with the birds, typically when you could have a lie on you can't sleep. When Liam surfaced all thre...

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe aimee_in_africa... power behind that water was quite unbelievable. It was amazing to finally see them in ‘real life’ after wanting to see them for such a long time. We had a nice walk around the area, got soaked and then went back to the campsite for our first official night of camping.

After Zim, we headed to Zambia.

Zambia

We just touched on a small part of this country really. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe carolineandstef... dinner at our hostel's bar and enjoyed some beers with the Zambezi rafting guides who convinced us that we had to go rafting on the Zambezi. We got into an interesting discussion about AIDS affecting behavior in both America and Africa after witnessing a Chicago Law student leave the bar with an African prostitute and return 15 minutes later telling us he just "paid her cab fare home." It was an interesting night to say the least.

We stayed out a bit too ...
Livingstone, Zambia kickthrough... but that was ok because he
was a kiwi. He drove at about 40km/h on a road full of potholes and rocks. He
took us through some rapids but two in particular, one was called Monique's
shower, which was just a really big spray of water that came over the front of
the boat. But the next rapid was called the bath and that's exactly what it was
a wave of water going all the way over the boat. He also showed us a creek that ...
Livingstone, Zambia jbauchet... br>
I’m struggling a bit now to remember what happened next ( I’m writing this now about 6 weeks later)… but I do remember we camped at a very remote campsite where we went on the most interesting walk with some local bushmen. The african bushman are found in parts of Botswana, South Africa, Namibia and Angola…. They are not black and they are not white, so they were always referred to as coloured. Picture the little guy from The ...
Livingstone, Southern, Zambia shonamary... was glad that the exit gate was still open at 6:15 pm when I left, as there was no security guard to let me out otherwise.

I had written my 3rd post card in 3 weeks while awaiting sunset, so I jogged to the post office from the national park to mail it. I really did not want to fend off any more curio sellers, beggars, hustlers, or the like, so I had no patience for a young guy with a wood carving in one hand who started jogging alongside me ...
Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe mebiner... into the wild yet.

We set off to where the lions are and start walking into the bush. Suddenly we see three female lions walking towards us - it's quite a scary sight to begin with! They are just over a year old, so look a lot larger than we had imagined. It's an amazing experience. The lions generally walk in front of us but are obviously in a playful mood as they are constantly play fighting and stalking ...
