Day One - Sundowner Cruise, Dinner at Boma and about 30 mosquito bites
Day Two - Walking tour of the falls & Lion walk....we were able to pet two lions that were about 18 months old
Day Three - Swimming at the Devils swimming pool which is at the top of Victoria Falls, this was so much fun!
Day Four - Ziplining and Gorge Swing...scary stuff
Day Five - White water rafting...we were tipped and everyone in the raft fell out....I fell out a second time on a small rapid....Colgate,...
On our last official tour day we all got together for traditional dinner at one of the local hotels. Joined by Lara's Mam and nephew Phil who had driven up from Bulawayo to collect her. It could have been wonderful and well worth the 19 million we paid for it if they hadn't rushed us out the door mid glass of wine. Retired to the hostel for a few drinks. Sunday began with Michelle and Dom awake with the birds, typically when you could have a lie on you can't sleep. When Liam surfaced all thre...

Hangin around at the petrol stations gave me an added extra advantage of being able to meet potential lifts ...and them to meet me.............no matter how brief .....a simple meeting on the forecourt went along way further to secure a deal..........then tthe shooting past of a stranger on the side of the road at 120km per hour!
So thats what i did i set out ..............and i toured ...
... to go...none are urgent at this point in my 2 hour cullfest. ~Chuck is waiting for me for dinner so I'm going to be brief.
The safari began with a baby, 8 seats, plane ride into a dirt strip and then another dirt strip and then our final dirt strip...ask Chuck and you'll get the entire small plane lecture. He says they're too small to fly if they don't serve drinks and he's ...
... so the US Dollar is now the currency of choice, this actually makes things quite expensive because they don't use coins and everything is minimum 1 dollars. That night we met up with most of the new people going to Nairobi. They are mostly Australians and 2 Germans. We had a bit of a get to know each session in the bar which was a good laugh. The truck has also been properly fixed here in Vic Falls as well so hopefully from here on out there will no more mechanical issues. On ...
... Tuesday. But we haven't actually cared one bit because WE ARE IN AFRICA!!!!. Ok, so our adventure officially started yesterday when we rolled out of bed at 6am to catch a taxi for our microlight flight. We donned our marshmallow man flight suits and flew up in these tiny open air planes with our cool Australian who lives in the African bush pilot. The view was ridiculously cool. We flew along the Zambezi river where we saw hippos and crocodiles (Christine saw an elephant) and then ...
Livingstone, Zambia hb2africa... as old as 45, and we also had two babies with us, 4 and 2. It was really quite an experience to interact with them. They are really quite animals -- except the baby when she wanted milk while we were still on our walk. She threw a little two year old temper tantrum. It was quite funny. While we were with the elephants we also saw giraffe, rhino, monkeys, baboons, impala, and several different kinds of birds. The animals are really ...
Livingstone, Zambia hilaryad... no sides, so you just sit behind the pilot holding on.... got some great photos on a CD which i will upload soon!
So 7 weeks down now with a week to go... which is a bit sad. It has become life for me now... I sleep better in a tent than in a bed, i quite like long life milk on my cereal now, and going to bed at 9pm is staying up late! We have had an absolute mixture of characters on this trip, from the drama queens, to the ...
... I bought one just for the hell of it.
Victoria Falls was very different from what I had imagined. The place was a ghost town (likely due to the political images of Mubage coming out of the Western press). The desperation of the town of apparent and a special police force called the tourism squad was dispatched to help protect visitors from harassment by local vendors.
I went to see the famed Victoria Falls. These falls ...
