Creel was a little more spruced up than the towns we had been through so far. There were plenty of hotels and restaurants but they still mostly enclosed by rough exteriors, also, the quad boys hanging on the corner on their 4 wheeler bikes. I'm pretty sure they were selling quad bike tours, but, they just looked like *********s, intimidating and acted the part. The only passenger train in the country goes through Creel and down the canyons which is a popular route ...
Guadalajara, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico jeydoublesyou... fans joined in, but there was no sense of danger and you could never imagine a Milwall/West Ham type scenario developing.
Although the standard of football was never quite as good as what you would see in Europe, it was an extremely open and entertaining game, with a great atmosphere. At about £10 a ticket it was also a hell of a lot cheaper than the Prem, so no doubt I'll be coming back for more during my time here.
... more festoon most street corners in the central business district. Colorful graffiti pops up in unexpected places...on the walls of banks, in side alleys, and even in a few ¨designated graffiti zones¨, comprised of white squares painted on to the walls of several businesses in my neighborhood, which I´m sure were ¨designated by the artists themselves and not the local goverment ...
Guadalajara, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico dylbeano... light in time to identify my assailant as a fair sized cockroach! However, by the time I grabbed a shoe to batter it with, the ****er had disappeared beneath my wardrobe.
I have since become somewhat paranoid. Where will it crawl next time I sleep? Not my face? Or will I awake to find a scorpion in my bed or a tarantula spinning its web around me? Tonight I'll be applying plenty of insect repellent before bed and sleeping with a loaded gun beneath the pillow...
... to clear my place and bring the dirty dishes into the kitchen. Though she is still perplexed by the practice, she´s resigned herself to my taking off my shoes at the front door (she leaves hers on throughout the day). After I discovered she was cleaning my room every day, I started pre-emptively making my bed and opening the windows, but she still comes in to re-arrange the pillows and tuck the sheets even tighter around the corners (or so I ...
Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico dylbeano... have heard me talk before I left DF, you would have thought I was being sent into exile or something... certainly not to a city of 4 million people). There is even a little baby metro that I can ride if I start missing Mexico City too much. There is some of the best food I've ever eaten here. Around town I can see billboards advertising the marathon. There are these road signs everywhere- signs that read "Nogalas" with a little arrow. Yikes.
Guadalajara, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico dmwalshRented a car and getting around was easy even though I speak no spanish at all. People seemed a little more unfriendly, I think it was just a city rush rush city vibe. Spent one day in Zapopan and one in Tlaquepaqu, I must say this little town inside the city was the best part of the trip. It was a touristy but just walking around you can tell it was one of the oldest parts.
Guadalajara, Mexico l.a.g.... Guanajuato, and Tamaulipas. Our lunch was included in the tour and then we had some time to explore the town before taking the bus back to Guadalajara in the late afternoon. Going to Tequila is an excellent idea for a day trip since you don't have to leave too early in the morning and you still have the evening to enjoy when you get back. ¡Salud!
Tequila, Mexico patrick_viajero... disappointed. Very average tour. Except for the fact that we were accompanied with a bus load of elderly citizens who didn't want to drink much so they gave their free drink at the end to us younger ones. But seriously, go to Cuervo and don't bother with Sousa. The guide switched between perfect English and (presumably) perfect spanish. We tried the agave fruit, the 1st distillation (65% alcohol) and the 2nd ...
