    The striking part of that is, as ever, we wonder how any assistant in Newcastle would be able to react if someone came in speaking French?
    All very pleasant and we returned on the train for tea in Obernai.

    We are now definitely on the final part of the trip with our German visits and the imminent return to the UK which Liz is keen on, myself, less so.

    ... bit was having both the oven AND the grill on in the caravan to complete the culinary feast whilst Liz retired to a safe distance outside under the shelter of the canopy, it being over 35 degrees C even outside!
    Tomorrow, we do Strasbourg, hopefully partly by boat. My French was put to good basic use asking for the train tickets for "demain" and the guy persuaded us to have a one day travel pass for train, bus and tram for a couple of Euro ...
