... carriageway. The town has a nice pedestrianised centre and pastel coloured shops and restaurants lining the way. Nick wanted to go to the beach and I needed to take Saskia's toe to be looked at. The last couple of times I'd changed the bandage, some pus had oozed out of one of the holes made by the stitches.
I picked up a tourist map, and identified the little red cross symbol for a doctors, and went looking for the clinic with Saskia. Nick wandered off in ...
... shall we say. Put it this way, Mel pointed out that he could clearly see the hole for the mini-golf because there was a weed growing in the middle of it. To be honest, I'd thought the concrete overgrown area was the remains of a building's foundations, rather than mini-golf.
The climbing wall was not much better. There was one tall tower, that needed a harness and sported a slightly frayed rope. There was also a traversing wall, with the holds fixed ...
... first pictures in front of Kersti's house, bought some water cause all the signs showed it was going to be a hot day, and started walking towards the suburbs. First car driver, heard that we didn't take a tent for this big adventure, was kind enough to offer his tent to us. It also turned out that his mother had been given Kersti some lectures about social sciences in university. A few ...
Viljandi, passed through Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia anniloo... out for the first time in my life. My eyes only saw white flashes everywhere, my legs didn't hold me and I was feeling very nauseaus. This state continued for 2-3 minutes. Splashing some cold water helped a bit and I walked to our room and drank half liter of mineral water at once. I guess I suffered from dehydration, since the rain took away the feeling of thurstyness and I drank less than liter of water during 66km of cycling. That and nearly 100 °C sauna wasn't a good match.
... of Tallinn. Instead of stopping by at least for a day and taking a proper look around, all I got there was just a brief stop-over. They say the town becomes pretty sleepy come autumn, but in summer it allegedly springs to life with life on the beach, dozens of festivals, night clubs and the big party crowd that moves in here for the season. Of course, for us from the Mediterranean, saying that a town above 58° of ...
Parnu, Estonia the_wayfarerThis blog is now finished. I will stay in Estonia for a couple of days, celebrate the weekend in Riga, and fly to Singapore on Monday. I will be living & working in Singapore for about 1-1,5 years (well, that's at least the plan), traveling around the neighboring countries. If and when I manage to create a blog about my trips around there, it will most probably reside in blogspot.com. Life goes on. Enjoy every moment.

Parnu, Estonia eix... We made our way along Pikk street. This has an amazing number of buildings of medieval and later origin, beautifully decorated and now wonderfully preserved. Went back to the Town Hall Square for lunch. We revisited Balthasar, a restaraunt we had eaten in in 2001. It was still the same in decor as well as in quality. Had a fabulous meal there. We then wandered through the streets surrounding the square but returned there just before 3 as there was a free concert being ...
Talinn, Estonia mrsmac... float by until the sun goes down (see the pics they are the only ones we have taken while we have been here due to the weather being sooo good). Off to Latvia's version of Parnu tomorrow - 4 hours south hoping to chase a little sun surely not asking too much in the middle of July???? Hope all is well and we are not being missed too much!
Parnu, Estonia no1pablo... recharge my batteries. I spend the afternoon walking through the old town whose pedestrianized and wooden buildings lined high street has a curious wild west feel to it. The beach, like the others i had visited looks like it would be fantastic in the summer and judging from masses of stacked beach furniture very popular. Unlike the others it is clearly for bathers only and not ...
