... the 6am train (only one a day unsurprisingly!) and arrived at the station to find a huge line of locals queueing for the second class tickets. We had decided to take the whole journey in one hit as we needed to make progress across Mexico for our flight to New York, with this in mind we pre-booked first class tickets the day before to reduce hassle and for a more comfortable journey.

... most of the really good parties and social events in Jeddah, and gave the rest of us infadels something fun to do on the weekends. These days she's teaching in Mexico City, so it was a short flight for her. But she was getting in at 8pm, so I had a few hours to kill.

... that often comes when hanging out with couchsurfers. We stayed until the bar closed and somehow I found I'd agreed to help out another CSer with recording some promotional footage around the city the next day. He needed a foreigner to film walking around some of the landmarks and looking at a map and apparently I fit the bill. It would work out great for me as well as Caro had a class to go to the next day and Coco was happy ...

... and sight seeing wasn't so easy. All the sights were on tarahumara land and they preferred you to take tours in groups of four or more. We ended up hiring a driver to take us to the beginning of each trail and then walked into most areas. Some too dicey without a guide. The "narcos" are very prevalent in these areas. As we approached the junction turn off, the driver was asking for money for the gasoline, but wanted a ridiculous amount.
