... a thousand steps we must walk up to where the hotel must be. We almost have a mutiny, have to help carry the kids stuff up the hill but finally arrive. After check in we go to a restaurant around the corner where people are eating these incredible looking calzones. ... PC and he blamed the connection. Whatever. Seriously mate, find a job ur good at. Like selling scarves to dumb americans. No offense.
After calming down....we sit in the Ull Duomo square nearby. Its so hot. Michael is on the kindle and lets out an audiable ****. Seriously. Embarassing. I hope no one heard... We treat ourselves to an ice cream... Coffee and Prosecco flavour. So good!
I do a little gift shopping later and meander the streets ...

... ve seen. The Palio horse race is staged around its perimeter - a tradition from medieval times, the race lasts about 75 seconds during which at least one horse falls on the treacherous ground and is trampled to death. So its quite a controversial spectacle today.

We caught the end of a parade that crossed the Piazza, marching to the beat of drums, dressed in traditional costume and proudly waving the Sienan flag.

Notice the Romanesque style church which is common in these medieval villages. Save for the cross on the outside and crucifix on the inside there is no other decoration.
