Up at 5:30 to catch the 6 AM opening of Steel Bridge. Then waited around for the 8:30 opening at the Centerville Br.Made 50 mile run to Coinjock. Ran aground in shallows just north of the marina but we were able to work our way off.

... was no sign of it in the cars, the bar..nothing. But what could I do... We carried on our day. Dipan made us an adorable breakfast. He made us pancakes and actually squeezed oranged to make juice! He's such a sweetheart. We spent the rest of the day napping, going to Kristina's pool, Chipotle, Ice cream (Dipan was my sugar daddy since my wallet was lost ;). ... diving down into the ocean. It was peaceful and we enjoyed our time together. The Resort offered nice beach chairs that we got to sit in and enjoy. We found a favorite place to eat breakfast. It was called First Light Breakfast and Burgers. Great quick food and I got to try Mimosas for the first time.

... Jim: We just finished a wonderful evening with a good friend and her husband, Margie and Bob shared dinner and great conversation. It seems Bob and I think alike on several subjects. ... evacuate before the water starts coming up the beach. Hurricane Earl, which was really not much of a hurricane for North Carolina in the end, pushed water all the way to the dunes thereby completely covering the beach.

I have read somewhere that it is possible to float a car in as little as 1 foot of water. Of course it depends on the size of the car and all but that explains why people get swept away ...
