At around 11pm a 50+ yr old one armed man showed up in the kitchen with a bag full of groceries, and soon thereafter two of his buddies showed up. ... t forgotten to buy hot chocolate mix at the grocery store. I tried to stay up late after dinner because I thought the starry sky would be really spectacular in such a rural and isolated place. ... of fluster. All grace and good humour, exchanging a humourous comment with the now-seated ex-aisle-waiting woman. They both laughed. A few surrounding passengers smiled broadly. A momentarily difficult situation passed into history. Many a warm-feeling nurtured.

Tomorrow, we're on the little 'switch-back' train from Flam to Myrdahl - one of the world's great railway journeys - then on to Oslo mid-afternoon.
