... had water in 5L bottles so we made do with a sponge down - not ideal in the cold :(
Minor disaster behind us we went for a potter around this pretty village. I have since discoverd that I didn't take really any photos which do the place justice. But what I can say is that this place is much more to it that a Cathederal.
Late afternoon we headed on to Sailbury. Arrived just before sun set and again found a park a ...
... through Duke's Cut, and purchased a 15 day Thames licence at King's Lock. £106.00! Went through Osney Lock and moored below Folly Bridge for lunch. Set off again and tied up on Iffley Lock bollards to wait for the lockkeeper to return. We could have operated it ourselves, but it is manual, i.e. turning a handle lots of times. They have the equipment waiting for installation to provide press button operation. Next time.... A boat decided to to come up through the lock, and we went ...
Wallingford, England, United Kingdom jamesandhazel... there. What can you do at that point? except accept that it;s gone. We continued on to Reading, it was no surprise that Dad and Cass beat us to the hotel. For dinner we were challenged by the fact that we could only fit 5 in the car, so we did 2 trips to the mall and 2 trips back to the hotel. Brady was asleep early, head back mouth open crashed kind of sleep. I had a difficult time falling asleep. Once I was asleep,Brady awoke to ...
Reading, England, United Kingdom koltzoo... old town snapping away with our camera. Nice quick trip and we're back on our way to the Airport to fly out to New York and then on to Boise over the next two days. The connections are loose so we're taking our time getting back to the real world. Cheers all and we'll see you all soon. Also watch for the photos when we get our computers up and running. Reading, United Kingdom thecochrans... ranged from 60s wacky clothing, to the history of glass making, the Kylie exhibition and Arabic art to name a few. So after our crazy busy weekend, we hopped back on the bus for our 3 hour trip home.... The last week has been pretty quiet, only the weather has been completely nuts! We were having lovely spring weather (that is temperatures are nearly comparable to an Aussie winter) and the daffodils were blooming and then it ...
London, United Kingdom robbortw... had to have his foot amputated because of cancer. And I bet he would give anything to feel a bit of uncomfortableness of pain in that foot again just to have it back. I felt so unforgivably quilty. And spend the rest of the day trying to figure out if I have ever had really bad things happen to me and I started at the very beginning:I was born into a happy and safe home. We always had food on the table (and extras). My parents could ...
Reading, United Kingdom kensalrise... just all huddle in the caravan in the back boat yard, watch dvds and fall asleep. There's a ton of events here at the lake though. Sunday night is jump club night (everyone who skis past 6 has to jump and we measure and announce), Saturday is Wakeboard night (only wakeboarding past 6 and we video and have a showing in the bar afterwards), Last Friday we had a club slalom comp. (just a fun 2 round slalom tournament), Every Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday mornings at 6:30-9 we have open swim ...
Datchet, United Kingdom amybing... the room, draped in flags and ivy, was lit by numerous candles. Jo looked great in her wedding dress, complete with daisy chain in her hair, and once they had exchanged rings, the newly married couple sat regally in the high-backed chairs, signing their certificate. Drinks and canapes followed back at The Swan, although proceedings were given a slight twist due to a powercut in the village. Soon it was time for us to all be seated, and I took my place ...
