Today we decided to drive to Oradour-Sur-Glane, just over two hours north of Perigueux. As you near the 'new town' in front of you, you notice the 'old town' to your right and the 'Centre de la mémoire d'Oradour' (memorial museum) to your left. ... de Thé, a children's store and a restaurant were the only shops open. The boulangerie owner was delightful and most helpful in explaining his products. We tasted a delicious cake, Canele, which was impregnated with rum! After lunch we did venture into the children's boutique and had fun selecting and then making a purchase. This owner commented, mainly in French, that she had had a large number of Australians in her shop recently.
