    Day 38 Wednesday 8th July
    Macon to Melbourne, Florida 460 miles

    Well last full riding day today and a so called transit day with lots of miles to cover mainly on Interstate. Andy S has decided to ride in the pick up truck, so there is only myself and Scotty and Catherine in our riding group.

    Rarely do my bike trips have any hard deadlines, but this one this year is very different. I need to be in Daytona Beach on Tuesday when I have an appointment at Daytona Beach Triumph for new rear tire and they are going to store my bike for a few days. I will be flying to Philadelphia to do another CSAPS shoot later this week.

    ... had booked a camel-back safari, so I ended up going with them on the back of my very own camel named Chewy.     ... and our rooms were not ready so we went on the beach and fell asleep and got soooooo burned that we never drank the beer and stayed in bed for a few days with the chills. Took that case home for another day. No sunburn this time and no hangover either.

    I had some issues with my bike so I got Clyde, the bike mechanic to fix it. He owns a little bike shop in Malabar and works there alone, as far as I can tell.

    ... the winter, some could have been week-enders, but what ever they were there were an awful lot of them. Yet again we seem to be bucking the trend, we went north in the winter and now we are going south into the summer!
