    ... I hadn't planned to go ashore as I had visited before but I could certainly understand the disappointment of those who didn't get a chance.

    I ate on deck 9 at the back of the boat and then headed off to peace and a good book - thank goodness for my Kindle. It is very rough and hard to walk along the hallways but cosy in my little cabin number 6018 - perhaps I should have tidied it before taking a photo though!

    ... had a couple hours to wander around Fira, the main rim village, and have lunch before catching the bus and heading to Oia (pronounced 'eee-ahh') our destination! We didn't want to walk too far because we were lugging our carry-on bags with us and it was very steep and hilly. I even had my airplane pillow and hat attached to my pack although they both came unattached. I recovered the pillow but my hat was gone!

    ... Chronologically, it spans 5500 years from Neolithic to Roman times. The setup was beautiful and I was buzzing around snapping pictures of everything. I have since learned that I was also a bit of an amusement to the rest of my group! They figured I'd end up so confused I wouldn't know what write-up went with what picture!! Horrors ...
