... night we had a few drinks at a small little bar and watched the Roma-Bologna, then went back to the terrace for some wine which was nice. I fell in love with Como because of it's location and beautiful nature that surrounded it, so I am going to rank it #2 on the list of cities I saw on this trip. ... and checked out of our hotel, the spacious Holiday Inn Lugano Center and headed out for adventure. The Holiday Inn was a really nice property that we booked on a crazy 24-hour sale and got an unbeatable rate. It was in a really nice location near the lake in Lugano, but also close to the motorway. It was, in fact one block away from the Monte San Salvatore funicular, which, much to my shock and dismay, was closed for the winter until mid-March. ...

When we got D settled at the hotel, C and the rest of us followed and took about a 2 hour nap, waking at 3pm, which is early enough so as not to disrupt night sleep, but is also suspiciously close to "time to get up" in Mountain Time.

... Dad went to move the car and got pulled over by a policemen because he a french numberplate. He didn't have his international drivers license or the registration of the car (Mum had them) but got let off. We had lunch which was pasta and ice cream or as the locals call gelato. After getting the van packed again we set off, headed for South East of France but are going to travel through Switzerland and Italy to get there. Made it about half way through Switzerland today and are now parked up in a rest stop for the night, finally having time to sort out all our pressies from Christmas in Prague.
