We moved on and later found a great pizza place. Pizzas are good here (unlike Rome). We then followed Fabio's advice and caught the ferry into Como. We spent the afternoon walking about the main part of the city - lovely old buildings, huge Duomo (surprise!!), partially unfinished waterfront, shops ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It was the most expensive meal to date but it was a splendid meal. The food was very very good and we knocked off 2 bottles of merlot. It was a great dining experience.

After lunch we went to an art exhibition of Bramatina religious paintings from 1450 etc. I didn’t think that he was ...

... located at the Piazza was built much later in the scheme of events, by the Austrians in the 19th Century. In the piazza, there was a lovely fountain called The Alps. From this Piazza, we walked to the legendary site of the home of Juliet. There is a neat bronze statue of Juliet where those hoping to be lucky in love rub Juliet's bronze "boob." There is a charming courtyard with the famous balcony, and Susy climbed the stairs to pose for ...
