... isn't that bad, when the rain stops. Andree had to try a Cornish pasty, which she described as a not very nice meat pie. Shame I couldn't find a proper one. Andree met the family, and some of my old work mates, who introduced Andree to some good old traditional ****-taking, at my expense of course. I can say without doubt I have not laughed so much in as long as I can remember. Several 'must do' tasks completed, and we were ...

Cabo de Gata/Las Negras

We arrived at Cabo de Gata around 2 pm which has beautiful beaches with clear water but full of sea urchins, on top of that we got hassled by aggressive flies and sandblasted as there was a special wind called the Poniente for a couple of days. We won't be staying to long I think. We stayed a couple of hours on the beach and than took the car and went into the small village down hill. No way to find a tv with the pay channel that would ...

Another circular walk today, up the coast to La Isleta del Moro, a fishing village that still maintains traditional fishing methods. It was inland to the town of Rodalquilar. Up until 1966, gold was mined here and we walked up past the now derelict gold mine. The walk took us through a large mining area evident by the occasional derelict buildings and tunnels going into the rock with signs warning of the danger of entering the mine.

The path then climbed ...

Playa de Mazaron at Bonueva

A super campsite on the beach, warm again at 30C when we arrived but cooling to 23 C overnight. 100 metres to the beach and 50 metres into the village, facilities excellent and pitch sizes huge for Spain. Very full though with a majority of people staying for the long term over the winter with complex set ups, settees and wide screen tv in their awning ...
