... out to the surrounding villages to see how pottery is made ( all by hand , no machines) then carpet weaving, a visit to a local home and then a factory making fabric. It was realy interesting , especially the man whose house we visited , one of the Bishnoi tribe , who was very happy to see us or was the Opium he was drinking !!? I declined the Opium but yes ofcourse Martin tried it !

... Ahmedabad/8 hours by overnight train, and is known as the Blue City - for obvious reasons (several more hours away is Jaipur: the Pink City). ... coincided with a festival celebrating Shiva which added to the noise, smells and our bewilderment.
Two days was enough so we boarded the sleeper train to Jaipur, not sure if we had booked a bed or a space on the roof! Thankfully, after much searching we found our beds, had a couple of gins and managed some sleep before alighting at Jodhpur at 5am.
