... library is quite neat. There were several folks in there taking advantage of the WiFi service and one working on a jig saw puzzle. We discovered you still had access to the WiFi sitting outside on a bench (which we did this afternoon in the rain!) but not in the car in the parking lot. The use of cell phones is prohibited in the library so if we want to use Skype we have to go outside too.
The library is in very close proximity to the beach where some very ...
Awoke to thick fog this morning but it burned off quickly and they’re forecasting a high in the low 80s. We’re very thankful we had the carpets cleaned and were able to stow our gear last week as the weather has deteriorated this week. Still it’s not as bad as what we’re seeing forecast everywhere - and I mean everywhere - else.
Yesterday I managed to remove the old name and port of registry from ...
... by Tropicana Field on the way in and of course traversed the suspension Skyway Bridge we’d used earlier in the year. It is still quite the phenomenon.
We’ve enjoyed some wonderful food. Friday we ate at a German/Polish restaurant, Castle Café, where Richard got to practice his Polish and we were entertained by a trio of young people who were quite capable jazz players. On our way back from the boat show we took advantage of the ...
... to work but we discovered that we needed three new batteries as they didn't have a charge today after being charged all day yesterday. Richard and I are giving each other batteries for Christmas! It was neat to hear the noises on the hull of being in the water. We saw, and heard the snorting of, our Cortez Cove Manatee today as well as lots of mullet. Apparently they're migrating up rivers to spawn ...
Bradenton, Florida, United States 9lives... fancy new "Masquerade II" graphics on. And today we ordered the wooden plaque that needs to be mounted in the boat to display the official registration number and net tonnage. There is a Manta 42 sailing cat in the yard with us. The couple live in Punta Gorda but are having some work done on their boat bottom here too. Coincidentally they also have a sailing cat in the North Channel so we were able to compare stories about sailing there ...
Bradenton, Florida, United States 9livesThe countdown is on; I leave on Saturday night at 8:30 pm. I am rather excited about this new adventure, but a little scared, timid, and not looking foward to the insane flights. I go from LAX to Heathrow, stay in London for an afternoon and a night, and then London to Madrid to Casablanca; arrive at 2:30pm on August 4th. My ...
Venice, California, United States dandrea... might think this is a glamorous life, there are a few things I can share with you to dispel that theory. The flipflops are for wearing in the different public showers you use every evening when you are in a marina. There is no quality control...some of them are really bad. As nice as the ones at Sanibel were, for example, there was no a/c in the bathroom and by the time you finished dressing after your shower, you needed another shower ...
Venice, Florida, United States lgrubbs... I've ever heard by the way, and we got to hang out 2 out of the three days. Mike's as inspiring of a person I have ever met when it comes to Livin'. Plus he introduced us to Manross, so he gave us the perfect flow for Fiji. Aweome. On to the next entry! I: Can't get the RATBAG pictures to upload to travelpod, so here are 4 measly LA pics, more exciting ones to come when we get to a different internet station!! http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1 1649&id=707714753
