Torino

... glass of wine that tasted amazing for that price. I also had a €1 glass of wine that tasted exactly like what you would expect €1 wine to taste like.

I would say Turin was the biggest surprise and possible my favorite stop on the trip so far, it had all the history and magnificence you expect from Italy without all the tourist traps (maybe it gets worse in the summer). Entrance ...

My first stop, Cavallomaggiore is a small town with lots and lots of churches... several in each block. I stop in a shop and the shopkeeper gets to chatting with me and I ask her about it. "People are quite religious here" she goes on to tell me about the religious trips she has gone ...

... and St Francis of Assisi, Two religious men who were able to "think outside the box" at a time when this wasn't accepted too well. But unlike St Francis, Peter Waldo was unable to stay under the umbrella of the Catholic faith, and as a result, his followers were subject to persecution, torture and massacre over the next couple of centuries, the descriptions of which I've read are truly revolting. It's hard to believe now that the ancestors of ...
