Nice hotel, very interesting place, though in summer i highly recommend avoiding Rome. The crowds are dense and the pick pockets have a field day

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Veneto Rome
You get what you pay for!
My husband and I stayed in Hotel Veneto in April 2004 and it was our first trip to Italy. The bus ride from the airport to the hotel was such a shock to us (because of the absolutely nutty driving) that we were pleased to have arrived in one piece. We could not have asked for a better hotel. The room was very clean, everything worked, and we slept comfortably. We always did our best to speak to the staff in Italian and they were always very kind to us. The staff recommended fabulous restaurants for dinner and made reservations for us. Cautions: Hotel Veneto is one a loud street so you'll hear cars and motorscooters zooming up and down. The door keys/locks are tricky to lock and unlock. The elevator is a bit slow. Breakfast is on the top floor and consists of cereal, pre-packaged dry pastry, bread, juice and coffee. Go into your stay with reasonable expectations and you will enjoy it! Chow!
We would recomment this hotel
We are a couple of friends who stayed at this hotel on June 16,2004 for 4 nights. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there. The hotel is very clean, very well located, easy access to all parts of the city, there is a bus who stops just outside the hotel and which can be taken from different parts of the city. The Staff is wonderful, very helpful and polite. Breakfast is good. The only thing which bothered us was that that there is no shelve under the mirror in the bathroom and no hooks whatever to be able to hang something.
Typical Italian Hotel
My wife and I stayed for 5 nights at the Hotel Veneto in Rome. The Hotel is well situated and we walked to all the major attractions.
Would not stay here again
Please look around before you decide on this one. I did not heed the warnings on Trip Advisor before my trip, and regret it. The plusses are that it is clean, cheap & walkable to many attractions. The downside is the staff is awful, the noise terrible (you can hear EVERYTHING in the room from the inside -snoring, people flushing toilets, doors slamming). I would think it is worth it to spend just a little more to have a better place to stay. I got anxious every night wondering how many hours of sleep I would get from all the noise (and I had earplugs in too).
Good Basic Hotel
We have just come back from our stay in Rome. The Hotel Veneto is a well situated basic 3* hotel. It was very clean and the staff were courteous and helpful. It was absolutely fine as a base and the breakfast brioche are very good! Good value for money.
Lovely Jublee - Super Hotel Perfect Position
Myself and my wife both stayed at this hotel and had a fabulous time.
The hotel is located in one of the poshest parts of Rome so consequently you are completely safe and far removed from the hustle and bustle of the Train Station. The rooms were fine and excellent value for money although the breakfast was a bit of a let down - coffee, tea, cereals, croissants and diluted orange squash. Remember to ask the waitress for a real cappuccino (no extra charge!)
Great Value for Money!
I thoroughy enjoyed my stay in Rome and the Veneto Hotel was a great base from which to view the sightseeing. It was very reasonably priced too (i booked online via the hotels own website) which had a special offer of stay 4 nights pay 3. The breakfast wasnt up to much though although the views from the rooftop terrace more than made up for that!
I would suggest this hotel to anyone on a medium budget.
Bad choice!
We stayed here in April 2000 for 4 night. Bad choice of the hotel! We, probably, had a smallest room in the hotel. The room was very tiny as well as the shower. You have to put a soup outside because there is no room to move inside the shower cabin. We had to keep the windows open at night, however, it was very noisy outside so we needed an ear plugs.
The consierge, an old man, was very nice and helful. I really don't recomment this hotel to anybody.
Not bad at all
The room was fine as was the bathroom (althought the shower was a bit small). Room and bathroom were clean. The staff were helpfull whenever we needed them. The hotel itself is located within walking distance of the Via Veneto, Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona.Thumbs up for the Hotel Veneto.
Don't stay here!
Just returned from Rome, where we spent a total of 8 nights at the Veneto Hotel. First for 5 nights and then another 3 nights after returning from Florence. DON'T STAY HERE!!! The first 5 nights were palatable only because we had a working jacuzzi in our room, but the desk staff were unhelpful and at times downright rude, the room was noisy and dark (not in an atmospheric way--just not enough light, all the tv stations had static. Then on our return we stayed in a different room and it was even more horrible...the shower had to be hand held, the jacuzzi didn't work and worst of all the bathroom had roaches! And the staff continued to be nasty. We had a problem with our credit card (someone stole the number and was charging things against it) and the hotel clerk did nothing to offer any assistance. I mean here we were from another country, without credit and as we struggled to figure out how to rectify the situation, the clerk a) would not make any calls for us to the credit card company and b) literally cursed us out because he had to run another card and do more work. If you're looking for friendly, helpful, roach free accommodations then I suggest you stay somewhere else!
