... in Catolica, only about 5km from our hotel but he lived in Coriano. This town was included in our ride home from San Marino. It is obvious as you ride through Coriano that Simoncelli was well loved. Flags fly from the lamp posts and there are several memorials in the town to him. The race track at Misano - just up the road has also been renamed after him. A fitting memorial for a very memorable rider and character.

Between the hotels many restaurants and cafes are getting ready to greet the summer tourists - people are painting walls, planting flowers and generally tidying up for the expected influx in a few weeks - glad we won't be here then!

... Athens drivers (by a hair) and then settled in to plan what we would be seeing in Athens. Top of the list was the Acropolis – no not the Milk Bar!!

Public transport in Athens was very civilised! You could buy a five-day pass for less than 10 Euros, which would cover buses, trams, Metro as well as suburban trains. You could also buy a multi-pass for four days which would give you access to five different attractions in Athens, so it looks like we ...

... see the atractions of a holiday, or even a residence, here.

After a pleasant breakfast of fruit, yoghurt, some ham and cheese, washed down with the usual orange juice and coffee, we set off for the ducal palace, which is the dominant building of the town. A huge palatial structure dating to the early 14th century when the Duke of Montepelfre was the man in charge of this region of Italy. It is also ...
