... realized Rob was in 29C and I was in 42K on the Rome/Toronto leg of the trip. The extremely rude Alitalia agent blamed our travel agent and rudely dismissed us by rudely saying there was nothing she could do (did I mention she was rude?).
So off to Rome we went and half an hour later, after an advertised "9 minute" walk to our Rome/Toronto gate (we were in the passport control line-up longer than that, let alone the marathon walk), ...

... as our backdrop. We laughed and cried until we couldn't avoid saying goodbye any longer. I think I've already described what this trip has meant to me in my daily rambles but I have a few last thoughts before we start our long journey home. ... they are major highways, they still have twists, turns and tunnels so it's very different than driving the 401 at night!! Add to that the fact that they drive so fast and don't normally obey the rules...let's just say it was nice to get back to Cleto. We went through Falerna and with the bright lights, open market and number of people about, you would have thought it was much earlier than the 1:00 a.m. ish that it was!! Sleep came easily after the food, the wine and the drive ...

... certainly is driving Italian style. Another feast tonight as Alberto got the old BBQ going (I honestly thought that thing was junk yard bound) and made steak and pork chops. Louise and Deron did smoked salmon with capers, onion and lemon and dessert consisted of Louise's amazing Turtle Cheesecakes and some sweets we purchased in Pizzo. We were joined by the Militos for dessert so our numbers went up to....oh, seriously who knows!! A great evening once ...
