... the rocks and they felt fuzzy and soft, like velvet. Once the tide comes back in, all this will be submerged under the ocean again and the cliffs only visible from a distance or from the water on a boat. We felt lucky to see them today and enjoy their beauty. After our walk we went to the Galley café where we watched a para-glider take off from the cliffs and sail through the air above the ocean. I have to confess that we're not altogether enamoured of the Algarve so far, although we haven't seen a lot of it yet. At this rate, however, we'll be hotfooting it straight to the Med as soon as we ...

... to pass it, though, the wind filled in and we were getting fairly significant gusts - force 7s - as we headed up to the anchorage at Sagres where we would spend the night.

Even Sagres was still intensely windy; with its howling and the vibrations of the mast shuddering we barely slept, even though we had every confidence in our anchor. So, once again, we were up early to head off to Lagos and escape this windy corner.
