Today we joined the queue for the Vatican City. And boy was it a line. The thing wrapped right around the corner and went for days! We were in the line from 945am until 1215pm!
Mum managed to make friends with some people from Bulgaria. They were really lovely and helped to pass the time. Going to have to visit Bulgaria now lol.
Once we got inside there were so many people and we just moved from line to line, it was real test of patience.
But after an eight year wait I finally saw the Sistine chapel :D

Vatican and the Sistine Chapel

A travel blog entry by allison.wolf on Oct 26, 2015

We had an early start to our day as we purchased early access passes to the Sistine Chapel before it opened so we could see it without the crazy crowds. We definitely made the right decision. When we left, the line wrapped around two streets that probably spanned about a half mile. Our tour guide took us in at 7:45 and we walked through the Vatican …

Ciao! Rome is a very old city. We visited Vatican today. Vatican City is the smallest country in the world, which is inside Rome. It might take max 20 minutes to walk around Vatican City. We were informed about the long queues to get in to Vatican. But it's nothing like what we expected. The queue for St Peters Basilica is definitely the longest …

We went to the Vatican which is a walled off area in Rome that houses the Sistine chapel and St. Peter cathedral which is the largest church in the world. Vatican City is actually it's own country/state. Kind of like Washington, D.C. Is its own little state/ province. Then we saw the Roman ruins including the coliseum where the gladiators fought. …

Rome: Day 2

A travel blog entry by jess.kjeldgaard on Jun 09, 2015

Today was yet another incredible day. We spent the first half of our day at Vatican City where we got to hop the line with our group and had a guided tour of the city. We went through the museum that has over 6,000 rooms in which there are ancient artifacts all the way to modern art. One thing that was interesting was hearing about all the …

Half a day in Madrid and a flight to Rome

A travel blog entry by pr0zak

... handbag into your hand luggage and prove it all fitted into those little basket things.

Anyway, the flight after that was uneventful but when we got to Rome it took them 45mins to unload our bags, again with no announcement. They unloaded a few but then the conveyor just stopped, so we were all wondering what was going on. Fair enough if things go wrong, but inform your customers people!!! It's not ...
