It's much simpler re-entering Greece, passport only then away onto the wonderful A2.

I realise I forgot to withdraw euros at the border so ride into Alexandropolis and find a cash machine. The town is notably more wealthy than anything on the Turkish side since Kusadasi.

... of the construction material of its walls. Relics of an ancient Greek temple dedicated to God Apollo have been embedded in the wall. In its interior one can also pay attention to the older mosaic floor that is revealed in specific spots beneath the current floor. ... not pleasant with the van. Escaped and headed towards the monsteries at Metoria with the plan of finding somewhere nice to stop and sleep.

Missed a turn and drove for miles up a freeway that we shouldn't have (GPS was set to a different "Metoria" up in northern Greece). Finally realised about 60km later ... so just stopped in a truckstop on the freeway and spent the ...
