... the local government at the time to indulge his lifestyle. We decided to stick to the main by of town and not venture into King Edward's lifestyle though. Later in the day we went to go see a sandcastle competition in Krk, the largest town and also the name of the island. The temperature again was around 37 Celsius so we took a break and went for ice cream. Em had had enough or fortress and old city walls at this ...

... museum. We didn't go in... We found a room above one of Croatias typical coffee bars. ( Zagreb alone has over 4200 coffee bars..there must be 500,000 throughout the country! ) it's was run by a nice woman and her husband who both tried to be helpful. They were excited to have us there since we were the first Americans to ever stay there. Ogulin, despite hiking mount Klek, doesn't have a lot to offer. It was too late to ...

We got our rental car and headed to Pula to see the coliseum. We got there in the early afternoon, parked right outside, walked 30 seconds to the ticket office (where there was no line), paid about 5 bucks per ticket and for the next hour and a half we became Russell Crowe in the movie 'Gladiator'. There was an obvious answer to Maximus's question, "are you not entertained?", we certainly were!! Chris assured me that if I ever go to Rome that I can cross ...
