Headed South into Hungary, on the back roads, the rain has stopped, the roads are good and with very little traffic I've had a fun day. Bimbled along at around 60 mph just taking in the sites. August 31st was a long travel day. Gord and I flew from Edinburgh to Zagreb, via London, and then drove along Lake Balaton to Budapest (where we picked up my brother) and on to a small town in Hungary called Noszvaj, where my father, sister Judy, and Aunt Aranka and family were waiting for us. It was more driving than I had expected, but if you saw the jigsaw puzzle of travel coordinates I was trying to piece together without breaking the bank when I started ...

... that our lives were about to end in an Hungarian ditch. It was at that moment that I started praying out loud, to anyone who might listen -- God, Jesus, Mother Mary, Allah! -- deliver us! And then, right after knocking the side mirror off a parked car on a narrow, one-way side street of Budapest, we found our salvation. The Hotel Palazzo Zichy, our oasis in Budapest, conveniently located right across the street from a Catholic Church. Thank The Lord! We are ...
