Headed South into Hungary, on the back roads, the rain has stopped, the roads are good and with very little traffic I've had a fun day. Bimbled along at around 60 mph just taking in the sites. Temperature in the high 20's so all good. Managed to get 390 miles out of a tank so I must be taking is slow!!

We sampled wines at three caves, each full, large glass costing from 50 cents to $1.75. Aranka and her husband Gyuszi now lived next door in a smaller home ...

... actually a genetically Hungarian thing.) So, imagine, if you will, a 75-year-old, hot-blooded Hungarian, driving a 4-cylinder Suzuki Swift like it's a Maserati. Except Janos doesn't like to pay for the toll highway, which is significantly more efficient, time-wise, and infinitely less narrow, with paved shoulders and good lighting. Not enough? I will add that Janos and Grandpa Tony have similar braking styles, and Janos's car is a manual transmission. ...

... well preserved Baroque churches and buildings such as the Archbishop's Palace and Lyceum which now houses a university. It happened to be graduation day, so it wad packed with black caped students and their families all dressed up for the celebrations.

We spent a bit of time in Ersekkert, Eger's relaxing park with a pretty central fountain and your typical kids playing, lovers canoodling, dogs chasing balls and people going for a stroll. Not far from the park in the courtyard ...
