... the way back to the hotel. We also scoped out the local shops to see which ones we would check out after dinner. We finally made it back to the hotel where we went to mass before meeting up for dinner. Dinner was great (surprise surprise). Usually I get super bummed out when the restaurants serve us fruit as desert, but for whatever reason, Greece has the best grapes, so when they brought those out as desert I made room, despite how full I was. ...
... The show was Seonaid Aitken who not only could sing and play the piano, she played the violin with great class and range. I also found her to be very charismatic and knew how to entertain the crowd.
As tomorrow is a Sea day the party continued on the top deck with a hot Latin theme. There was a lot of line dancing and the Princess dancers performed on the Fountain deck using the magic of coloured water and music to again impress us all.
... at one this time for a beer as it was very hot and we were quite
tired. We managed to find our way back to the hotel without much difficulty; if
we had known the way when we arrived, we could have walked from Monastiraki,
even with luggage, as it was not very far!
Sunday 21 September – Serious Sightseeing
... the Macedonians, who worshipped Zeus. We returned to the hotel and spent another night there. FRIDAY, JULY 11 ============= We got an early start this morning and took off for Delphi, the site of the most venerated oracle of the ancient world. Once there, we checked into our new hotel and the kids were guided on a walk through some of the ancient sights that we would not see the next day. ... city that hasn't aged gracefully. After the Acropolis we took a long walk to Glyfada, a district recommended to us by our apartment host as being great for cafés and shopping. Having spent over an hour walking and tramming there, we were disappointed to find if was not particularly good for either!! We headed back to the apartment and relaxed for a while before ending the night with a casual dinner and some cheesy American ...
