... t see any wildlife this time... A little relieved, 1 step at a time!!
It was a Tough Hike but with incredibly views and the piece and quiet of the mountains it was the perfect taste of what's to come on Vancouver Island.. Only with more Cougars there I'm told! Great!

... br> We travelled through the beautiful Tongariro National Park, through Rotorua until we finally arrived in Lake Rotoiti. Lake Rotoiti (pronounced Ro-toe- wheati and don't ask me where we get the “w” in that pronuncition) is about a 15 minute drive north of Lake Rotorua. ... It was a rubbish day weather wise but we put the rain coats on and started to have a stroll around. We got to the waterfront and started to work our way back to the hostel down Burrard Street and turned off at Robson Street which we then learnt was one of the main shopping streets in Vancouver. ... It was such a different feeling on the descent and we noticed how much our skills and confidence has grown in the short time we were here.
We finished the race in under three hours - (Garmin fail, hence no correct time) and this put us on the second group for starts for the rest of the week. Both are very happy with our ride and hope to back up tomorrow with a similar effort.
