Thanksgiving!

Today was Canada's Thanksgiving! We were excited to see how they celebrate and learn more about their traditions. To our surprise it seemed like a typical day. Stores and restaurants were open and people were out and about like a regular day. We asked at the hotel what their Thanksgiving celebrates and no one really seemed to know. The only answer we received was "turkey"? It rained most of the day with a high of 54. We found out that this is a pretty typical fall day. We were so excited to b...

Lookout Vancouver

We started today by waking up to a beautiful Coal Harbour sunrise. You can't even begin to describe in words how beautiful this city is. Our room overlooks the eastern portion of downtown, as well as Stanley Park and Coal Harbour. What a view! After getting ready we headed out towards the Gastown district. As the birthplace of Vancouver, Gastown was initially a settlement that sprung up around a tavern founded in 1867 by sailor and gold prospector Gassy Jack Deighton. The cobblestone streets ...

How high is THAT?

Today was a GREAT day! We started our morning watching an older gentleman make us breakfast crepes right in front of us in a tiny cafe in our hotel. They were awesome! After another cup of delicious coffee, we headed out to the Tourism Vancouver office to purchase our tickets for the day. We bought a day pass for TransLink and two tickets to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain Skyride. We made our way over to the SeaBus terminal just about a block away. The SeaBus is pretty coo...

Another Side of Vancouver

Today was more of a relax and "see what we can find" kind of day. We started off with breakfast from the cafe downstairs in the hotel and then headed off in the rain to the main TransLink terminal. We bought our tickets and hopped on the SkyTrain (really, its the same thing as MARTA) and went down a couple of stops to Chinatown. We had high hopes for Chinatown, thinking we would find a plethora of shops and dining. It was nice, but it left us a little disappointed. There really wasn't a decen...

"Sore-y" so short...

I think we've been doing this whole thing wrong. Apparently we should have created just one blog and then entry after entry, etc. But oh well, its been working okay and we haven't had any complaints from the peanut gallery. :-) Today we will be short with you (sore-y; yes that's sorry spelled how they say it here) b/c we are headed out early for our big day. We are going to be doing something really, really cool today; something we never imagined we would get to do in our lives. I don't want ...

So sad to leave...

We are both so sad to leave this wonderful place. We had the wedding of our dreams and the best honeymoon we could have asked for to follow it. It will be really hard to pack it up today. But we must; so we are getting ready to head out to the airport. We arrive back in ATL at 10:28 tonight and then its back to life a usual. Well, we are married now! We didn't want to leave you hanging about Saturday...but we are going to. We just don't have enough time this morning to tell you everything abo...

Ok, this will be short but...

Okay, so we are both exhausted and ready for bed...but at the prompting of Joey's sister we will break the suspense. We hope we haven't built it up too much, but... We went whale watching! We got within 30 yards of WILD Orcas. Basically our guide told us that we got as close as he has ever been on a tour in his 4 years!!! This was an incredibly amazing experience for the both of us and something we will never forget. Not only did we see Orcas, but we also came within 200 yards of 5 Bald Eagle...

Historical Traveler Reviews of Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle

Best Hotel Ive been to.

from A TripAdvisor Member
Me and my girlfriend found this hotel last minute for our trip to Vancouver. They offered us an awsome deal for five nights and we went ahead and took it without setting any high expectations. When we got there we were surprised to see how great this hotel was. We were placed in a room on the 27th floor with view of the city, harbor, and Stanley Park. The concierge service took care of all our arrangements throughout the week and clued us in on some of the best places to eat.

I was a bit disappointed at their gym- particularly since the weight equipment was not complete, but the refrigerated towels made up for that. I highly recommend trying the Sunday brunch since its worth the money for the quality of food they serve. Also be advised that the bar is a bit pricey, a 1 oz. Long Island Ice Tea ran $8.50.... and at 1oz.

it takes a few to get buzzed.

If you would like to stay in the West Downtown Vancouver district, this is by far the best hotel!

Good Location

THe Mariot Pinacle is just a few blocks off Robson Street. Parking was good in the enclosed garage. THe hotel was modern and overall nice. We stayed around a week and enjoyed the hotel...the only problems we encountered were during the transition from a Delta hotel to a Marriot. I would probably just chalk up some problems to the changeover. The hotel was otherwise very nice. It is a short walk to Robson St. fine if you are younger, but I would guess a bit much for older people. I stayed with my kids and love walking Vancouver. Robson St. is a lot of fun. great restautants and clubs. Its a young vibrant city and I have spent a lot of time there. If you have a car you save time and can get to all of the attractions. You could cab it around town if you wanted to, or just walk. I would say that this hotel has an indoor pool and sauna/hot tub and nice workout area which I very much enjoyed. As long as the change over is completed I would think it would be a nice place to stay....

Stay at this hotel, you'll like it....

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights recently, had two rooms and found the hotel delightful. As bite away from Robson street, but it is worth it. The discounted offered by this hotel makes this an excellent value.

Great fitness facilities, check out the changing/shower room at the pool, the best in any hotel. The staff is excellent, friendly and helpful. They never fail in greeting you anytime of the day or night.

Their smiles relaxes you instantly. Beautiful hotel, an excellent value, friendly staff, in a beautiful city, what more can one ask for.

Perfect in everyway!

Stayed at the Delta Pinnacle for two weeks the end of May. Had a corner room with king bed on the 29th Fl with a view of the harbour and Stanley Park. Lovely room with separate shower and tub which was great.

Service and personnel was outstanding. Their parking garage was nice since we had a rental car, and the daily rate was typical for the area with in/out privileges. They had a wonderful workout area and we took advantage of the pool, steamroom and sauna expecially nice after a day of sightseeing. Fantastic location, just one short blook from the harbour that made it nice for evening walks along the pier or exploring other areas of downtown. Would stay there again without question.

Great Story

My fiancee and I stayed there in Aug of 2002. Service was better than expected. 1st class. One morning I went running. When I came back, the bellhop greeted me and took out a bottled water for me from his jacket pocket. Need I say more!

A Great Honeymoon Hotel!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We honeymooned in British Columbia and were very impressed with the Pinnacle. We found a great rate online which included use of their private lounge the 'Signature Club'. The staff were VERY friendly and helpful, and special care was taken at all times to ensure our comfort. After being burned by the Fairmont New Orleans (warning!!!check out our review there), we were ready for some real hospitality. We got exactly what we paid for at the Pinnacle. The room was beautiful and very well-appointed. A great place to stay.

Just plain Awesome!

I stayed here over New Years 2003 and I have to say after staying at my fair share of hotels in the Vancouver area, this is by far my best stay in Vancouver. Every attention to detail was meticulously taken care of and I was made to feel like I was the most important guest there even though there were plenty of guests and I was staying there at a very discounted rate. Everyone was extremely helpful. I wanted to order specific flowers for my girlfriend on new years eve (not knowing that businesses in Vancouver close early on new years eve) and the concierge called EVERY florist in the greater vancovuer area and fraser valley trying to find one that was open (unfortunately, not for lack of trying, she did not succeed). The room was a little larger than average and had a partial harbor view. There was complimentary just about everything there in the room and it was equipped with all the modern conveniences that you would expect in a 4 star hotel. Room service was extremely prompt and brought our breakfast order 10 minutes before they said they would. They also did much more than the standard 'set the tray on the table and leave' bit you get at most places. They completely uncovered and placed our individual breakfasts and served us before leaving with all the extra dishes. By far the best service I have experienced at a hotel, to include the ritz carlton. I recommend this hotel to anyone who asks where to stay in Vancouver.

Great spot

I had the pleasure of staying at the Delta Pinnacle on my return journey to Australia and I was not disappointed. All through my trip in Canada I was impressed with the high level of customer service and I was not let down with the Delta Pinnacle. From the moment I arrived all the staff were equally happy and always presented themselves with a big and warm smile. Room service was of a high quality and served with that big Canadian smile. When I asked for my bags to be picked up I had hardly put the phone down and there was a knock on the door, great service. Unfortunately I did not have a room on the upper floors but the view over the harbour to North Vancouver was impressive, as was the room itself. Comments by other reviewers on the small size of the room I felt are unjustified, I generally think the room is big enough with a comfortable bed and living space. I recommend this hotel for not only its position, but mainly for the friendly staff and the ultra-modern decor. Well worth a visit.

Incredible Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
The Pinnacle was incredible. They were very helpful, and when we had a problem (such as us arriving at 6 in the morning, instead of 2 pm) They accomodated us, and put us into a room right away, even though ours wasn't ready. The staff was incredible, and i reccommend the Signature Club rooms to everyone. The food was excellent, the service was great, and it was in a wonderful location in downtown Vancouver. What a wonderful experience!

A Fancy Harborside Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed 2 nights at the Delta Pinnacle on this October. I did little web surfing and found premier room(harbor view) for the price of standard room.

Very friendly staffs, and I liked nice view from my room(harbor and mountain). But the room was so small for 4-stars hotel. I recommend Empire Landmark hotel if you want unobstructed 180 degree view. Also, they offer more spacious room for less money. But keep in mind that they don't have in-room dining service and valet parking.
