... the New Year was upon us. To be honest I don’t remember the countdown, so it seems I began the New Year when I awoke the following afternoon with a massive hangover.

I swear the altitude has an effect on alcohol tolerance. Mine has always been pretty weak, but on the mountain it is just pathetic. I do not even want to know the effect this place has had on my liver… too many late nights and early mornings… a good cleanse is in order when ...

... It's quiet and peaceful and I can't wait to actually go out tomorrow and explore the mountain. The boys went out tonight for a night ski session (yes - Tom bought some skis but he managed to not fracture his leg so far), and they seem to have enjoyed it. I stayed in to finish some odd jobs (RYPEN video name drop) but got everything done which is good so I should now be able to be carefree for the next few weeks at least!! Now to finish the laundry and head to bed...night all!! ...

... to stumble even on flat ground. I spent the steep downhill ride leaning so far back in my saddle I was practically lying down.Safely back at the ranch, we hobbled to the verandah of the ranch and drank the most delicious home-made iced tea with freshly-baked cookies. When we'd recovered a little, we drove to Rylan's aunt Linden's house, our base for two nights. We arrived late in the evening and collapsed into bed. ...
