... the New Year was upon us. To be honest I don’t remember the countdown, so it seems I began the New Year when I awoke the following afternoon with a massive hangover.

I swear the altitude has an effect on alcohol tolerance. Mine has always been pretty weak, but on the mountain it is just pathetic. I do not even want to know the effect this place has had on my liver… too many late nights and early mornings… a good cleanse is in order when ...

... was spectacular, especially the Sabino Canyon near Tucson, AZ and the coastal drive in California....both of which were on the scary side with long drops. Other highlights were seeing the brown panther and roseate spoonbill in Florida, and the whopping cranes in Texas, and for Paul two spectacular aircraft museums. It makes me laugh when people talk about a good steak because the red meat over here is tasteless. I have been living on chicken, vege and rice meals and fruit for lunch etc. The fruit and veg is super cheap but goes off quickly. Anyway less about ...

... hungry by this time so stopped at a small “health food” snack bar but found it was dreadfully overpriced. They wanted $10 for a Turkey sandwich ad there’s no way I was going to pay that. I commented on the high price to a girl standing nearby and she just shrugged her shoulders and said “welcome to Toronto”. I found another place nearby and got a Burger with Greek salad for a better price.

          Unfortunately when I got ...

... It's quiet and peaceful and I can't wait to actually go out tomorrow and explore the mountain. The boys went out tonight for a night ski session (yes - Tom bought some skis but he managed to not fracture his leg so far), and they seem to have enjoyed it. I stayed in to finish some odd jobs (RYPEN video name drop) but got everything done which is good so I should now be able to be carefree for the next few weeks at least!! Now to finish the laundry and head to bed...night all!! ...
