... the New Year was upon us. To be honest I don’t remember the countdown, so it seems I began the New Year when I awoke the following afternoon with a massive hangover.

I swear the altitude has an effect on alcohol tolerance. Mine has always been pretty weak, but on the mountain it is just pathetic. I do not even want to know the effect this place has had on my liver… too many late nights and early mornings… a good cleanse is in order when ...

... the supermarket was interesting as those things that you take for granted in nz arent available like honey and wheetbix! Milk comes in cartons and the bread is really dense. ... A CBSA officer had detained a group from what appeared to be south Asia or the middle east in a side stairwell, and was counting from a wad of $100 bills as thick as my fist. It seemed a bit unusual for this to be taking place at the departures gate.

After getting seated on the plane, I discovered much to my delight that once again there was no one seated beside me so I had both seats to myself (seating on this Air Canada 330-300 aircraft is 2-3-2). ...

... It's quiet and peaceful and I can't wait to actually go out tomorrow and explore the mountain. The boys went out tonight for a night ski session (yes - Tom bought some skis but he managed to not fracture his leg so far), and they seem to have enjoyed it. I stayed in to finish some odd jobs (RYPEN video name drop) but got everything done which is good so I should now be able to be carefree for the next few weeks at least!! Now to finish the laundry and head to bed...night all!! ...
