Another Mountain Town
After another dip in the hot springs, we continued the drive and took
another ferry to get to Vernon, British Columbia. On the way, we drove
past what looked like an awesome cafe and had to take a picture of it
for our friends and family that would appreciate it.....you know who you

Up to date, finally!
... After Jasper we drove to Banff, still in the Rockies. We had many stops on the way, and the scenery was amazing the whole way. We went to Athabasca Falls and then Athabasca Glacier. The glacier is as thick in some points as the Eiffel Tower is tall. A big bus/truck combo vehicle (worth more than $1 million) with massive tyres takes you onto the glacier, where you get off and walk around on the ice. ... think we'll give this same route another go now that we're a bit more familiar with the terrain.
Nice meal in the Long John's pub - food's definitely good in this village. Then off to the Saloon for some live entertainment. They had a couple guys on stage with acoustic guitars singing covers but had a cool vibe. 15 Jack and coke's later and a couple local shots and it might not be an early start tomorrow either.

... with the Canadian Pacific Railway going past every fifteen minutes, all night, fifty yards from our tent, we traveled down over the Continental Divide and down through the Columbia Valley . We stayed in a motel at Radium Hot Springs so I could apply a tonne of Calamine lotion (full body of lumps getting worse) and have a proper dinner. ... dem Bus oder auf dem Rücken des Elefantes oder eines Kamels in der Wüste....... hier wird das zur Freude aller mit dem Oldtimer der Feuerwehr erledigt. Ein Riesenspass!!
Also macht's guat zuhause, geniesst den 1.August, wir machens' hier auch so mit BBQ, nur sind bei uns uns die Steaks etwas grösser, Maccaroni und Cheese, haben da leider auf dem Teller keinen Platz ...
