Matt and I headed off to the Koelner Zoo on the metro. It was lovely: very green, glass exclosures. There was a big family of elephants (about 16), 3 hippos who were having fun in the water and making loud noises and showing off their large teeth. Matt loved the orangatangs (the babies were playing) and the cheetahs (who were prowling up and down). A flock of flaming pink flamingo's and long legged ducks.

... pics of the local homes as we were quite taken by the home sizes and architecture. Tidy, tidy and more tidy homes. Notably absent in the little villages so far has been the lack of corner-type grocery stores. Of course, the gas stations have taken on stocking some items as is the case back home.

... Holland with one another. They have a Jersey Shore equivalent set in Den Haag, and it is just as ridiculously terrible as ours! Glad we have that in common. We all stayed up way too late talking, which in hindsight was probably foolish since we had planned a tour of central Holland for the next morning. Oh well, it was certainly worth being tired to spend so much nice time with Daniel! Will post about our little tour soon. ...
