Preparations
Only a week to go before we leave for Abu Dhabi to spend a couple of weeks with Mark, Wendy, Silke and Felix. Hopefully will also bump into Julian whilst there. It seems as though we are in for quite an adventure - a couple of camping trips (poss one in Oman), a tennis tournament featuring the top players in the world, Ferrari world, Dubai, a Boxing Day Ball and some squash along the way! We played Rummikub after tea. It was not John’s night and Isi winning 6 games out of 7. When we are playing games, we listen to CD’s and last night it was Fairport convention compilation and Briget McMahon "Celtic woman".

Take-off.. Where the adventure began
... Amsterdam Schipol airport. The flight to Dubai only took 6 1/2 h, still it felt incredibly long and Oh my god did my ass hurt after that!
Emirates Airlines are amaaazing though. You get food and snacks often enough to not starve and you always always get water! But you should defenitely book a seat at the isle otherwise you're gonna be stuck and really squashed.

... Then you know they’re not just serving up coffee. Menus to choose from depending on how you feel... or want to feel, cannabis baked in goodies, ready to be rolled or pre rolled if you’d rather, these shops have it all. Walking into a coffee shop in Amsterdam is an experience unlike anywhere else we’ve been and a solid bet when in need of some chilled vibes.

Day 9 - Amsterdam
... we have to understand cultural differences, but it seems to me that there are situations where wrong is just wrong, regardless of culture......something to ponder in the days to come!! We ate the included breakfast at our strange little hotel this morning...it was interesting, with jams, lots of bread, cheese, and yogurt.
