... very near the center. Aleid has 3 bikes - typical dutch - and I got to ride her new ´volvo´of the bike world, a large, solid, brightly colored thing. I managed to stay on the bike as we went around the Dom and then for a nice drive in the country to a pancake house on a canal. I recommend the spek und kaase. I seem to manage about 10km at a time on flat landscapes. The other unusual thing (for me), is that Aleid decided I needed some new clothes ...

... the most beautiful areas I've ever seen in order to get to Utrecht, where Chrissy's Parents are living. I guess this is where some of the rich and famous of the Netherlands own grand villas. We were at the edge of a windy river for 20 miles with spectacular little towns with classic style drawbridges, etc. I realize now that I hardly captured any of it in photos. It will make it into the post-trip video however.

... We were all feeling a bit sad, the cruise had been simply gorgeous, and I could not recommend it highly enough. We found our little Hotel where we are spending the next 2 nights. Very close to the museums, the large park - "Vondelpark" and to a Diamond Museum and factory. Went on a tour of this, saw the new diamond cut, from 58 facets to 220, what a sparkle! Just so pretty, and no they did not give any free samples. Bugger.

There is a candlelight cruise, which leaves from way over by central station. Then there is the one that we did - the "evening" cruise. We highly recommend taking the latest one ...

The Nightwatch by Rembrandt is on display nonetheless, so a visit is still worth it. Next, Van Gogh Museum. A must visit for all Van Gogh lovers, or lovers of impressionists' works. Not a very big museum but contains about 200 over paintings by the master ...

... I've always wanted to see professional soccer. Munich is a very clean well organized place. Easy to get around and a fair bit to see. I went to the English Gardens which is a big park in town and happened across a few nude sunbathers. A little shocking since it's October and not hot by any stretch.
