Bus to center of city, take 2 hour Walking tour of this very old city. Lots of spires everywhere. Went into St Baafs Cathedral to see Jan Van Eyck's 'Adoration of the Lamb' which is symbolic of Jesus' sacrifice . Windy and very cold today. Back on bus to ship. ... shopping!) We filled up a bag of lollies each from the shop, then walked down through a square, where there was a guy with a stall selling local lollies! Damn! We had a chat with him about what they were. They were purple cone-shaped jelly lollies, filled with some sort of gel-ish liquidy goodness. ... huge barren white boxes. Now at least we have a few things to make our new homes feel a little more comfy.

In a huge attempt to not stick out like a sore thumb in a community that will be home for a while, we haven't taken many pictures of Gent. While we learn a bit of the language and flow of the city, we're making mental notes of all the beautiful sites and will be sure to share them online soon!
