    ... spooky because there weren't alot of people around but it was nice and relaxing. It was also +35 outside with no we were very drained by the time we got home. We cooked dinner (chicken, steam veggies, and potatoes yum yum) and then had some wine with the hostel workers and headed out for a night on the town. Again we made it back just in time for breakfast :) the sunrise is also beautiful in Rotterdam ! Off to Belgium tomorrow ...

    Friday we paid a visit to the Brazilian consulate in Rotterdam, for a visa. It should come in the mail in about a week. Arthur does not need the visa but Americans do. We will only be in Brazil for 5 hours, so a lot of hassle for a short amount of time. ...

    It had been bombed when the Germans held it, then bombed by the Germans when the allied forces re-took it. You would not believe that Rotterdam was part of a country and Europe in recession; there are cranes on the skyline and new buildings going up for all to see.
