A quick drive from Cologne and we reached Voorschoten, Netherlands where we lived for 10 years. We are staying with our old neighbours and now friends Monica and Jan who live opposite our old house.

We arrived to tropical temperatures for Holland, 35C and had a lovely reunion with some of our other neighbours. We ate supper in a restaurant beside the Vliet, a huge canal which ...

... tram-hopping until I reached my street. This time I was able to get off at the right stop with no difficulty! I really enjoyed my day. It was an amazing night... one I would say I was truly thankful for, no pun intended :) It was my first American Thanksgiving (while living in Holland, go figure...) and I think by far the ...

I write this entry three months after relocating to The Netherlands, but it hasn't been until just recently that I look around and think "wow, I live here". Well, at least for the next three years if not longer... sometimes I need to pinch myself to be reminded that I've actually done this. The only possession I own is my car and I live in a little European style semi-detached home ...

    Deacons do Amsterdam

Last weekend we had a deacon reunion in Amsterdam! Four of us from Copenhagen met up with three friends from Vienna and one from Dublin. We stayed at a hostel that was quite an adventure. When we first arrived we were happy with it but were curious about the two people in the room with us. From their stuff we guessed that they were guys.  It turns out that they were two thirty year old Colombian men.  They basically had opposite schedules as us and would return ...
