... The coffee shop was still overflowing as I walked back home so I resisted again. Afternoon was for making my mum's now famous 1-1-1 slice for Feast in the evening. It was at Melvina's home,. I was honoured to meet more friendly open people and ended up in deep discussion with a neurological psychologist who has just submitted a paper to the White House to reform the education system! Tomorrow is Fort Worth to do a museum or two and to see some Texan Longhorn Cattle. ...

The locals say it's warm, but for a girl of the tropics I have my ever present cardigan on! Denton (or as it's promoted online - 'little d') is a university town; or I should say a 2 universities town about the same size as Townsville. From our overnight at Lake Hubbard, we drove to Dallas to the George W. Bush Presidential Library, a request from Jimmy. EXCELLENT choice- so interesting, from the first exhibit about the American pastime of baseball ( and ALL the Presidents involvements), to the Response to 9-11 exhibit, and the Oval Office reproduction. Our next stop was to relive November 22, 1963. The sixth floor of the Book Depository building at Dealey Plaza was full of ...

Wildflowers abound in people's yards and often they don't mow until the seeds are set, or mow around the patch. Jean's cats are warming to me and I am getting rubs and being asked for pats and head scratches. A soft cool breeze is wafting through the window and I can sleep under covers which is a pleasant ...

... blog but I'm just amazed by how much of the southern half of Louisiana is SWAMP. If it weren't for elevated roads or the river no one could get into lower LA. before air travel. I covered a lot of LA today going all the way from NO to Shreveport then west to Texas. High temp today was 96 but no rain. The camelback I bought to carry my water was a life saver today. Because of the wind you don't realize how dehydrated you are getting --so water is essential. The ...
