... badgered me for money, I grabbed a pop-tart out of my emergency snacks and ran back to where the dog was laying. When I approached, however, it jumped up and when I tried throwing a chunk of poptart its way, it fled. In trying to help I only disturbed his sleeping. Time to call day one OVER. I still have several hours tomorrow morning to explore Memphis, but I am already over this place. If I check off a few sites tomorrow there will be no reason to ever come back.
Memphis, Tennessee, United States dawncole... both Ben Harper's Burn One Down. That blows my mind. I believe we have a lotttt in common.
"Now my choice is what i choose to do and if I'm causing no harm why should it bother you?
Your choice is who you choose to be and if you're causing no harm then you're alright with me"
I think I'm attaching a picture I just took of Ryan filming while Christa is driving. He went to film school and sets his camera uptop the bed ...
... trying to navigate our way from Houston to Washington DC. We've tried to mix with the locals as much as possible along the way, which has been interesting. More trouble than it's worth for the most part. For instance, I have been accused of stealing credit cards, pretty ironic when I think of how much money has been nicked from me on this trip and had drinks with someone who turned out to be nothing more than a complete racist ...
West Memphis, Arkansas, United States holliday... proceeds go to them), there were so many busses going in and out and it was a weekday. We did the budget tour and looked over the fence, ha, ha. There were many other travellers doing the same. From the front of the property you could see the main house, the yard, entry way and stables. Across the street they had Elvis's planes, yep both of them, also on display. Totally cool.

... Pam also was in town the first day we were there so we met her for dinner and visited awhile! It was great to see her again and she again strongly recommended the zoo!
I really liked Memphis—it veers wildly from Old South to modern South (or as we like to call it the NEW South). It has a park dedicated to Nathan Bedford Forrest, famous commander in the War of Northern Aggression (or the Recent Unpleasantness as it is called in ...
... Shortest Distance and not Use Most Freeway (keep us out of bad neighborhoods should also be an option). We finally made it to Graceland and pulled into the first parking lot we saw. We decided to grab a quick bite at the Rock n' Roll café in the Elvis shopping center next to the Heartbreak Hotel. Lunch was average and nothing special (chicken sandwich and side salads) but we sat and filled out and caught up on our post cards. After lunch we headed right over to the Elvis ...
Memphis, Tn, Tennessee, United States destemDallas - Memphis Today we head towards the home of the Blues! We had a stop in Texarkana, the town on the border of Texas and Arkansas (and Louisiana before the boundaries were moved). We crossed the Mississippi river as we headed into Tennessee and our stop for 2 nights, Memphis. With everyone dolled up and ready to hit Beale St, we were taken to a place called Alfred's for dinner and drinks. The big attraction of this place ...
Memphis, Tennessee, United States harmer56... the living daylight out of other drivers on the road, so they can keep out of our way! 3 hours later we arrived in Nashville. The drive from Memphis to Nashville, was incredible! "yes, Mark, while you were getting your beauty sleep, I wasn't paying any attention to the road and watched the surroundings! and while you thought we hit a few speed bumps on the road, I hate to tell you this, but they were either turtles or Armageddons!"=-) I am only joking, please don't send the animal ...
Memphis, Tennessee, United States s_sarkardei... Marvin wrote says $10.00 on an inside page. All I have is a $20. Marvin says he has no change. Marvin is a smooth talker and I decide to give him the $20. He then grabs my hand and starts reciting in a loud voice one of Martin Luther King's speeches. It was quite dramatic. I haven't read his paper yet. I head over to the Gibson Factory with $22 less in my pocket then when I started my walk. The Gibson Factory in Memphis produces the semi hollow guitars. The production ...
Memphis, Tennessee, United States cobra1899... a brass duck head!
Many members of the touring group also visited Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, where he often lived, where he died on August 16, 1977, and where he is buried. As tokens of the visit, one choir member wore an Elvis mask to sound check that afternoon, and administrative manager Barry Anderson wore a brightly colored Elvis t-shirt over his dress shirt and tie.
Members of the tour also walked along the famous Beale Street, an important area in African ...
