Baja California: An alternative Thanksgiving.
My brother and I are driving there tomorrow. Yes, MEXICO. I obviously can't go longer than a few month without leaving the country. It's a road trip. Road trips are my absolute favorite kind of trips! Driving, camping and beachin'. I won't have internet, so I'll have to update when I'm back in Salt Lake next week.
... along with last night, which was 100% free thanks to the late "Best Rate Guarantee" deal (may it rest in peace). Over the past 2.5 years, we have stayed in many hotel rooms for free across the country. Alas, Wyndham has changed their Best Rate Guarantee (known affectionately as BRG) policy so that it doesn't include free rooms, and this is the last room we had booked under the BRG deal. It's the end of an era, and boy, did we have a good run.
... icy, but the icier the snow the faster you go! Nothing wrong with that :)
I learned to snowboard at Brighton about 11 years ago. My dad had to spend years waiting for me at the bottom of the hill, but now I have to wait for him!
We met Boo for a goodbye breakfast. I was impressed that he was able to get up so early, but when he told us he had plans to ride Keystone I wasn't as surprised. A day on the mountain in the sun will get anyone out of bed!
Day 9 had us in the car for about 7 hours most of which was through Wyoming. Apparently there are two ways to get to salt lake. The shorter way and the faster way (according to our nav system). We choose the faster way through WY and back on route 80 because we ...
... you worked here illegally for eight yrs?"
"Yes," the guy replied.
The customs officer just shook his head in disbelief, probably wondering how the guy had the nerve to come back. I mean at least one of my offenses was only working illegally for a year. The customs officer gave the guy his passport back and said he could go. Are they crazy? The guy probably legged it as soon as he got out the airport.
Okay, back to me (I mean it's all about me). The lady was taking ...
As far as anything new in the next couple weeks, I doubt I'll be on any adventures, as my final semester of college is coming to an end and things are getting busy. However, my brother and I are planning for a road trip to Baja California, Mexico over Thanksgiving break. Going to Mexico over Thanksgiving is kinda a weird concept, because then we're actually skipping Thanksgiving, since it's a U.S. holiday. It's alright though, I was able to celebrate ...

... for mosquitoes. Hopefully it will be useful down the road. Day 44 - Leaving UT Family, Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area - August 3, 2008 - Sunday I got up and went to church with Sarah, Nathan, and their 3 boys. They are Mormon and so the service was different from what I am used to. It was the first Sunday of the month, so it was Testimony Sunday. Anyone who wanted would go to the podium and tell the ...
American Fork, Utah, United States life-in-a-yurt... complete. Also visible on the hike is the Wasatch Range and Utah Valley. As the caves maintain a steady 45 degree temp, bringing a sweatshirt or light jacket is recommended. Upon reaching the cave monument you will tour, in order, Hansen, Middle, and Timpanogos cave. Photography and flashlights are permitted. Good shoes are a must. For me, the walk down was the tough part as, again, it's steep so Timpanogos doesn't take it easy on your ...
