    ... the animals there had an air of domestication about them, but were kept in large habitats and roamed as they pleased. It is funded solely from entrance fees and donations, all the money made going into caring for the animals.

    ... both worked at General Motors Proving Grounds in "the day" . I made 1 trip to the desert proving grounds on business in 1982, so a trip to the "old test grounds" was in order...And a trip to a couple of the restaurants that the engineers had taken me too also was a must.

    The resort provides you a "charge" card upon checking in so that you don't have to carry cash. This is both a convenient thing and a terrible thing. I had to remember that I would be paying for everything when I checked out! We did get drinks to stay hydrated.
