    ... rotting outside the Smithsonian in Washington, until restored and now housed at the space centre, indoors. Then back to the centre to look at shuttles, moon buggies and more . Touched a 3.5 billion year old piece of moon rock!!! Back through Galveston, then along the Seawall Boulevard. A 17 foot high, 10 mile long sea wall protects the city. Arrived at Galveston State Park, camped next to the water, just back from the sea. ...

    ... the safety/lifeboat drill. Immediately after, the ship set sail and we went poolside for a bowl of Sail Away Punch, watched kids in the pool and saw the port slowly slipping away.

    Back in the stateroom, our bags had been delivered so we unpacked. This mini suite is about 50 sq ft bigger than the normal stateroom I remember from previous NCL cruises, but there is so much storage and nice amenities included.

    On our way to Galveston we got caught in traffic so we opted for an adventure in the form of a detour. What a surprising view. The Gulf roughly lapping the shores; beautiful homes on stilts, pastel colors of beach community homes were easy on the eye. I wish more of them were caught in pictures. Small farms, resturants and shops dotted the main drag and the bay was so still in direct contrast of the gulf. This was an enjoyable ...

    We arrived here last Tuesday. The lady who checked us in said our site should be dry, "it hasn't rained in twelve hours." We were here on April 1,2012 when rains left our site covered in 3-4" of water. Campground maintance was kept busy pumping the sites off be for the next rains fell.
