It seemed to be a relatively sleepy town for the 2nd largest city. We called it an early night and slept in since we are on vacation after all. We walked around on Sunday looking for a brunch place. It was downright hot in the sun and we found a wonderful buffet at a trendy spot near the river: Blanko. A DJ was spinning music at the recently voted trendiest place in Finland. Who knew? But the buffet was amazing ...

... Kioski for candy, and wandered around a bit, snapping photos and just taking it in. Then we strolled by the river and people-watched for a while.

One thing I noticed straight away about Turku is that everyone seems to be exceptionally good looking here. Men and women alike are tall and fit. Lots of blond hair. Also, everyone seems to ride bikes, jog, or engage in other sorts of active sports. I'm not sure whether it's motivational or not, but it's certainly fun to look at.

... to spend the next couple hours posted up in the terminal where we were entertained by a quartet of Caribbean singers and sporadic conversations with a tour group from South Korea. Our ship arrived and I was really pleased with our slightly cramped, but comfortable accommodations for the overnight voyage to Finland. ... It was much easier then a long haul flight because you could get up and walk around as much as you wanted. There weren't seats allocated for passengers without rooms you just had to sit in the cafes or bars, so we lay on a couch in a bar and slept. We met some Finnish guys who asked to borrow our computer as they had spent all of their money in Amsterdam and needed to get a quick loan online to buy food. They were quite nice, they ...
