... has been living in Helsinki for years. Our night ferry to St. Petersburg, Russia leaves Saturday night and we're excited about that too. We have a 72 hour visa free excursion there. The visa process in Russia is painful and expensive. The cost of our ferry there and back is the same as a visa cost and it's much easier. The downside is that we only get 72 hours in the country but that's better than not seeing St. Petersburg.

Anyway, needless to say, after an hour or so, we decided to head back to Turku. Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained, right? We'd been spectacularly lucky so far this trip with things to see and do, so we'll just chalk this up as a bit of an odd detour and move on, shall we?

The plan was I was going to do an Archipelago cruise while John went to the Maritime museum. To my dismay all the information stating there was a 5pm cruise was wrong. ... as well - I've never even met 10 of my fellow travelers / guidance counselors. My roommate is on my FB friends list already, and she's from my home town as well. We have some friends in common, even. I'm sure we'll get along just fine.

Anyway, talk to you all later, I'm off to do something useful. Like cleaning the apartment so I don't have to be embarrassed to let my friend in. He's watering my plants for me and I can't leave a messy apartment for him to see. Heh.
