Day 16: Countryside
Today I went to a rural area of Italy. It was very calm and quiet here. The people were really nice and gave us some of their food so that we could eat there with them. Their houses were built of pure bricks making them very stable and warm for those cold fronts that come in the winter.

Tavira days
... in the area but it was extremely hot and apathy set in. We did not even manage to go to the almost effortless ferry across to Ilha de Tavira. We are sure that we will return when the heat is less intense as we both liked in and easyjet are now flying to Faro (up the coast) from our home town of Southend.
Regretfully we took the bus back to Spain going straight through to Seville in 3 1/2 hours.

Seaside chill holiday
We drove to punta umbria from jerez de la frontera via seville in about 4 hours and followed some very amusing and eccentric instructions to our apartment. They came I suspect via google translate and included such gems as turn right after paradise restaurant and continue until round ducks. Mooring up another river

With a constant check on pilotage I helmed while Steve stood lookout. It was weird because we entered the channel and then proceeded along the beach passing sunbathers and swimmers as we went. The markers were not easy to spot and it looked as though they actually stopped but then we spotted another a fair way away. After that it was keeping in the channel and making our way 2 miles ...

The bimini was all back together again by 1330 and by 2pm we were off upriver to Alcoutim. As you leave the marina and head up river there is a road bridge that spans with a maximum clearance height of 18m at MHWS (Mean high water springs...i.e the highest tide possible) that we had to clear.
