Good start to the day and set our course for Portugal stopping off for a lunch stop at Isla Cristina, which is a bustling fishing port and town. They have good facilities for the fleet; plenty space. They must have some sort of nautical college here as well because the free fall lifeboat training rig was on the quayside. It was a bit rough looking in places with neglect in the rubbish dept. Though one guide book ...

... The street was full of People, mainly families all sitting around eating, drinking and generally enjoying life. Australia could learn so much from the Spaniards. Streets full of tables, chairs and people. Couldn't help wondering whether the local councils in Spain have the same approach as our councils back home, I think not. And it's interesting to see the differences between the Spanish and Portuguese sides, the Portuguese being more rural with many derelict farm houses and the Spanish (especially near the entrance) more modern with many apartment blocks being built. We anchored in a lovely spot and sat around in the evening watching and listening to
nature. Just idyllic. We even saw a snake swimming from one side of the river to the other.

... get something around the prop as the going was rather slow compared to normal. The wind picked up and we
got a bit of a sail in. Spent ages trying to find a place to anchor – areas with suitable depth are taken up with mooring buoys. Contemplating the weather forecast we stayed on board for the rest of the day. Having lovingly looked after our gathered clams we managed to kill them, so over board they went.
