Now you see it.. now you don't

We were planning to go to Liechtenstein but thought we may as well as it was sort of on our way. It's the worlds 6 smallest country so it would have been rude not to go..haha.

We didn't drive to the main town but to another.. where really there wasn't anything. I did get a photo with the tourist sign though. Had to somehow prove I'd been there!

Well, fancy meeting you here!!

... familiar green Series Land Rover travelling in the opposite direction. It was Gaz and Charlotte in the Lean Green Recycled macnine!! Of course we stopped and turned round, and they did the same.

We were wondering why on earth they were on that road, but we soon found out they were on the way back towards Calais. The night before, things had proved too much for their motor, and they had problems ...

Across the border

Our third stop of the day was our first in Austria. Now I was entering undiscovered lands! Feldkirch is right on the Switzerland border. The old town centre is surrounded by towers, and a castle sits on a hill above.

We explored Feldkirch and a few of its towers. The old town is quite charming with its colorful buildings, trickling fountains, and small shops. When we tried to ...

... the pedestrian street. I also stopped for a bite to eat in a small kebab eatery.

On the bus back to Sargans, I got off at a stop in Balzers so I could check out another castle - the one we passed on the bus journey to Vaduz. This one is also a private one, it turns out, so I couldn't go inside it either. It sits on top of a steep hill wrapped in vineyards. I walked around a bit until another bus came along and headed back to Sargans.

... and maybe ski very soon! Bianca's family has been amazing and so welcoming to me (even though I can barely communicate with most of them). It's been a wonderful experience to meet this side of the family. Tonight we are taking the night train to visit Bianca's father side of the family in the regions around Graz. We'll check in soon with more updates! Happy Easter and hope all is well at home... Until Next Time, Bianca and Michael (with a side of Carmen)

To get here we took a train from Zürich (about a one hour ride), then transferred to a bus for another fifteen minutes. ... surprise around every corner you turn. I found a small (really out of the way) cemetery, apparently Jewish. I went back to get Bev so she could see it, too. I got some great shots. (Shirley should be happy.)

The time to head back to Davos came all too soon. Once again, we traveled the back roads, this time by bus, and the scenery was just as awesome as it was on our train trip coming up this morning. We traveled up to the 6,000 ft. level, up and down and all around the ...

... felt rather fortunate (and comforted) to find it. The first thing that I noticed was that the altar is brought out into the congregation with the pews in the wings facing the altar. What a find! I can’t wait to get the pictures to show Father Spiess (hey, maybe we can write this off as a business trip, since we are doing research for the Heritage Campaign). This church was built in 1892 (pretty new by European standards) and renovated in 1978. On our way back down to ...
