... I go, but in Chile I reached my limit--dog fights, dog sex, dogs with mange, dog poop on every street. I was feeling pretty disgusted, but heard from a nice tourist consultant that Valparaiso has recently implemented veterinary care for these dogs and that at this point they have almost all been neutered and immunized. Le matin, nous partons pour gravir le Cerro Santa Lucia, petite ile de verdure au milieu de la ville. Nous nous balladons ensuite dans les rues de Santiago a la recherche d'un cafe. ... a smaller boat in. Really not organised at all! That night we met up with Mitch and Sarah, a couple we met in Iguazu, and we went out for dinner to a restaurant that had been recommended to them. It was good food and good company. Pity they arrived as we are leaving but we'll see them again when we get to Peru. Our time in Vina Del Mar has been very relaxing. It is a lovely town with a good atmosphere and a couple of great beaches. Definitely a good choice for our first christmas away from home.

Later Sarah and i went to Cafe Turi which is beside the Assensur Conception (or Conception Hill elevator), we had´t booked ahead and we figured it was going to be an average restaurant as it was in the Rough Guide Book for South America - now it was still raining heavily and we weren´t going to get wet so I was dressed in full wet gear with my fleece and a "Plain Lazy" T-shirt and Sarah was in full wets with the Michelin Man trousers on and a Baywatch T-Shirt ...
