    The sunshine hit my face. A second later, I opened my eyes. I got a great night of sleep last night. So glad that Sara and Mohini kept me up yesterday or else I would have not slept at all last night.

    I microwaved frozen food for the first time since Christmas break. In Beijing, I would just pay a dollar for a sandwich from a street vendor before going to Chinese class. Mohini woke up and her roommate Caitlin was up too.

    This morning we spent an hour or so walking on the Pacific Crest Trail where it crossed the road from Lake Tahoe. The trail was at 7200 ft and was quite easy to follow. We kept a sharp lookout for bears as we were all alone in the wild!

    ... stands today there is hardly any land surrounding the actual house and it is taken up with shops and cinemas, perhaps it was the same but it was so long ago i can't fully remember, I asked one of the staff and it was in and around 1980 when they sold a lot of the land to the government, so perhaps my memory wasn't too far off.
