... and went instead to Grace Cathedral, built following the earthquake in 1906 and completed in 1964. A really beautiful building and proof that modern constructions can be just as stunning as old ones.
We then took our second cable car ride of the day before visiting the attractive Mission Dolores, the oldest building in the city. We have become dab hands at negotiating the excellent bus service here, so much so that the locals are asking us for directions...

... Two days in a row I went to the Exploratorium. The thing I liked the most was called 'a drop to drink'. It was a magnified water drop and a hand holding a cup. After we went to the Exploratorium we went to McDonald's. Then we went to the market and got some blueberries and strawberries. The strawberries were humongous.

One morning we skyped my mum in France. Bosch and Arden were there too. They are my friends now in France.

... doctor specializing in nuclear medicine and his wife is still working and she works as a diagnostic doctor with cancer cells. They were so nice and so happy and said it was his 70th birthday, so that's why they'd come to Chinatown to have lunch to celebrate. They live in Los Angeles. Well, next thing, is that they said they were going to have yum cha and were very keen for us to come with them - their treat !!! I said we'd only had breakfast not long ...

... to see; it seems that most people feel they have some sort of get-out-of-jail free card since they are taking picture of Lombard Street and street cars. More than one person were that close to getting ride to the hospital or morgue during our 30 min at the top.
