    ... taking loads of building materials or people to their destinations. I saw no one straddling their donkeys, but side-saddle was the way that all people rode these donkeys. Their leg was thrown over the horn on the saddle and away they went. The hike was beautiful with colorful buildings through the towns and the sea always looming on the other side.

    We had lunch after the hike of spinach tart, leek soup and pizza!

    Epidavros is well known for its amazing theatre. We got up early to take a cab 15 minutes up the valley to see it and a small museum. We learned that the theater was designed by Polykleitos the Younger in the 4th century BC. The original 34 rows were extended in Roman times by another 21 rows. It seats up to 14,000 people. The theatre is marveled for its exceptional acoustics, which permit almost perfect intelligibility of unamplified spoken ...

    ... there are no bicycles although most of the paths are wide enough to accommodate them.

    I think that we walked pretty much all of the paved part of Hydra in our 1 1/2 days there. Hydra was made famous in the 1960s after Sophia Loren filmed the Boy on a Dolphin here.

    After a very restful sleep and lie-in till well after 9 we had our breakfast and went down to "Once upon a time" for coffee - unfortunately the story didn't have a happy ending as both the coffee and service were not good :( Then we went and hired a quad bike and drove to Poros where we parked up and saw this chap foing some a,axing stuff on a wave board (?) then went and sorted our ferry tickets for Monday (changed from Tuesday), Pg had another (much nicer) coffee and I had Coke Zero ...
