      ... Next we had to use our imaginations to mentally reconstruct the royal palace from the outlines of rooms. We were able to walk around the city's ruins - and I was able to make a loop of it (you know how I love loop hikes!) by going through the north gate and back around by the museum.       There was a police presence near the entrance to the museum & site which was not expected although not surprising given the site was free today. A police officer on a motorcycle guided us to some of the remaining parking left. In need of a bathroom, we loaded our backpack with beverages for later & marched quickly to the museum.       ... wandered back to the quad bike via a gelato place and clothes shop!! Back on the bike and we rode around a bit of the island until we came to Taverna Mourtzokos where we stopped for lunch then we drive off past "Love Beach" until the next beach where we parked up for the afternoon and had a swim and read until after 5.
