... Use of the hotel card is needed to pass down a private road which snakes down the cliff towards the sea. At the bottom, however, it meets a public road which bears an even more uncanny resemblance to a Norfolk country road than the one on the top of the cliff. After a couple of miles it arrives at a rather run-down old-fashioned camping-cum-beach-chalet area with a stretch of tired looking sand. The inevitable beach cafe is pouring ...

... of Constantine and St Helena which is clearly where all the fancy pants people holiday. We went on a very rickety cable car (sorry no photos, I was clinging onto everything for dear life). We laughed at the pot holes. And the best part? We made friends with a lovely Romanian couple and their adorable baby girl. They introduced us to homemade Palinka (!!!), and warned us about the gypsies in Bucharest. And we drank beer! Just the ticket!

... hiring a villa here for 6 months and coming every weekend. They ran a heating company and probably not your average Rumanian but good fun. The told us they had recently been playing golf in Sicily and had had their valuables stolen from their bags while playing golf....by Rumanians! The Italian police couldn't help smiling as they took the particulars.

In the late afternoon went to the Kaliakra Cape. It was ...
