    ... fit.

    Once at the monument, I was absolutely taken aback by the sheer magnitude of it. In middle school we briefly brushed over the mysterious origins and construction techniques of Stonehenge. We spoke about pulleys and levers and moved on. I clearly never fully appreciated the size of the stones because I couldn't believe it. I still have no words. Amazeballs.

    The visitors center was A+ and I had a surprisingly delicious chicken and bacon sandwich out of a box.

    We have been so lucky with the weather on the different stretches of tidal rivers we have encountered so far on this trip. Sunny, light winds and no rain, it would be a whole different ball game in wet and windy conditions.

    ... a "duck weed" issue on the Selby Canal but were surprised on how much there was and how green it was, it didn't look like there was a canal at all, under the luminous green covering.
    Selby is a very pleasant small town and we moored in the basin at the junction with the River Ouse, well placed for our for our early set off time with tide on the way up to York ...

    We set off this morning early enough that we will hopefully beat the crowds down to the Royal Yacht Brittania which is moored as a permanent exhibition at Edinburgh Docks. This early start has paid off - no queues and there's only about 3 small groups of people ahead of us.
