... what was supposed to be a relatively quick bus ride. We were held up at the Poland- Czech border for 3 hours. We watched the entire movie of the hangover during this time. Not fun. But we made it, and oh boy was I glad we did. Granted our accommodation was way out of town, but the five of us can work out a city's public transport system in no time, and their currency. ... glam and flash but anyone who’s been to a bus terminal in Europe knows the truth, and this one was no exception. A dingy, parking-lot, full of chain-smokers underneath a freeway overpass.
Precious little English spoken either leading to a few tense minutes trying to work out exactly where we needed to go. Strangely the transplanted East German shotputter woman at the other bus company’s counter yelling ...
... got Czech sausage on the way home was delicious, and the lovely lady even gave me a free mini bottle of champagne for my excellent chat.
Things I learned: A common sight in Prague at 2pm on a Saturday is a man getting his clothes ripped off him by his stag do pals, an hour of free beer, absinthe & vodka makes for a messy night, and my good drunken banter gets me free champagne!
Looking forward to: leaving Prague and the impending hangover ...
